Federal Way Mirror Male Athlete of the Week for April 8: Oscar Rincon

DHS senior scored five goals in a recent boys soccer game.

Decatur High School senior Oscar Rincon, soccer, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Male Athlete of the Week for April 8.

Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?

A: My favorite class is Calculus BC with my favorite teacher Mrs. Choi.

Q: What additional activities/hobbies do you enjoy?

A: I enjoy playing tennis and volleyball with my friends in my free time.

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: The person who has helped me succeed the most is my dad, pushing me to become my best self.

Q: What is the best advice you’ve been given when it comes to your sport?

A: For soccer, the best advice I’ve been given is to have the memory of a goldfish.

Q: What’s your favorite post-meet meal?

A: My favorite post-game meal is eating pho with my girlfriend.

From the sidelines: DHS senior Oscar Rincon is in his first season with the boys soccer program. Oscar recently scored five goals in an NPSL match. He was selected as a WIAA Athlete of the Week for this performance. Oscar has also been a member of the boys cross country program. He has also been a leader on campus elected as Student Body Community Relations Representative during his senior year. In the classroom, Oscar has earned a 3.860 cumulative Grade Point Average. He will complete 12 Advanced Placement courses as part of his rigorous college prep preparation (including math, English, social studies, and science courses). Oscar is currently ranked 45 out of 309 in his graduating class.
