From the Sideline

“Senior Dahvae Turner completed his fourth year on Decatur’s dive team. Dahvae scored 307 points at the West Central District Championships, which is his career high,” coach Nadia Moore said. “However, this year’s competition at WCD was stronger, so he just missed the cut for qualifying to compete at the WIAA 4A state championships. He placed 10th at WCD and was only 10 points shy of placing seventh, which would have qualified him to compete at state. Dahvae is a young man of few words yet always contributes in a mighty way to the team. Every dive season Dahvae competes with class and sportsmanship and demonstrates the desire to improve. Dahvae is always respectful and an enjoyable athlete to coach. He has been a great friend and teammate to all. In addition to diving, Dahvae is a representative of Decatur’s ASB and a very involved member of our school’s choir.”

The Athlete of the Week is sponsored by Federal Way Public Schools, Jimmy Mac’s Roadhouse and Sylvan Learning.
