Thomas Jefferson High School grad Lamar Neagle’s goal in the 61st minute gave the Seattle Sounders FC a 2-0 lead in the second leg of Major League Soccer’s Western Conference Semifinals Wednesday against Real Salt Lake at CenturyLink Field.

But the Sounders failed to move forward in the playoffs.

The Sounders ended up winning the game by that same 2-0 score, but they needed to tally at least three goals to advance in the MLS Playoffs because of a 3-0 win by Real Salt Lake in the first leg of the playoffs.

Neagle’s goal finished an impressive season by the TJ grad, his first with the Sounders. The forward was third on the team with seven goals this season, including a hat trick earlier this year.
