KEVIN GEORGE

1953 – 2018

Kevin was born June of 1953 in North Adams, Massachusetts to William and Harriett George. Kevinpassed away peacefully on January 17, 2018 at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, WA. His passing was a result of a severe head injury after a fall at home. Kevin spent his childhood growing up in East Montpelier, Vermont where he was the third of seven children.

After graduation from high school, Kevin joined the Navy in 1971 and was honorably discharge in 1979.

He began working for the United States Postal Service in Seattle, WA, upon his discharge. He started as a letter carrier working his way up the career ladder to several management positions, with his last being the Manager of the USPS Seattle District Transportation, until his retirement in June 2009.

Kevin was an avid salmon fisherman traveling all over Washington state with his boat in search of the ever elusive “BIG” King salmon. Kevin, along with his wife Helen, served the community as baseball coaches for the Federal Way National Little League, which lasted from 1999 until 2007. Upon his retirement he enjoyed woodworking, waching Helen work in the garden, and building miscellaneous items for Helen’s gardens.

Kevin is survived by his wife Helen Pelton; children Sara George, Brandon Hardaway, and Ryan George; three grandchildren Rebecca Lake, Ethan Philio, Rylan Derr, and one soon to be born Hardaway grandchild.
