Former Federal Way resident Joseph Nelson Hobson died Jan. 8, 2003 at a hospice in Longview. He was 80.

Born Sept. 27, 1922 in Plaza, N.D., he was a Federal Way resident from 1966 to the early 1980s.

He was a retired member of Pipefitters Local 82 in Tacoma and a longtime member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Stephanie; sons Chris of Shelton, Joe of Longview and Mike of Federal Way; a daughter, Michelle of Buckley; and nine grandchildren.

Inurnment services were held Jan. 15 at Gethsemene Cemetery in Federal Way.
