John Awad

John Ayad Awad died Sept. 30 at Tacoma General Hospital. He was 68.

Born Oct. 31, 1933 in Cairo, Egypt, he was a 34-year Federal Way resident and a physician for 37 years. Awad was in general practice in Auburn for 22 years until his retirement in 1992, and was a member of the King County Medical Society.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Marcelle Awad of Federal Way; sons Sherif Awad of Tacoma and Ramy Awad of Seattle; sisters Yvonne Shakarian of Seattle and Jenny Hovsepian of Bothel; and one grandchild.

A funeral service was scheduled for 10 a.m. Oct. 5 at the Church of the Nazarene, 1525 S.W. Dash Point Road in Federal Way, with burial at Mountain View Cemetery in Auburn.
