Andrea Clare Luttinen | Obituary

August 12, 1936 – July 20, 2023

Andrea was born on August 12, 1936 and passed away peacefully on July 20, 2023 surrounded by her family. She grew up in Aberdeen, Washington, and earned a degree in political science from the University of Washington. Alpha Delta Pi was her sorority, of which she remained devoted to her entire life. Andrea raised her family in Federal Way, Washington, where she resided until 2012 when she relocated to Coronado, California, to be closer to her family and enjoy the beautiful weather.

Andrea was very active in her garden club where she served as secretary treasurer, and she loved winning blue ribbons on her plant entries. She enjoyed teaching beginning guitar to friends and grandchildren as they gathered around and practiced her hand written songs. Supporting the Coronado Library and the Osher Life-long learning Institute was also a passion. Often you could see Andrea’s red car parked outside the library or Spreckels Center as she participated in lively discussions at Current Events. She was recently chosen as a local artist to have two of her portraits on display at the Coronado Community Center.

She was an avid sports fan and spent time cheering on the Seahawks, the Mariners, and the Padres. Playing pickleball, Bingo, Mexican Train, and especially Bridge with her friends were some of her favorite pastimes.

She is survived by her daughter Susan, son Michael, daughter-in-law Wendy, grandchildren Kendal and Karl, and sister Joanne Titus Thompson. She was preceded in death by her brother Tony and son Ken. Our mom will be remembered with great affection and sorely missed.
