Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:

• Suspected date rape: At 6:30 p.m. Dec. 11 in the 30 block of South 337th Street, a woman reported she believed her and a friend may have been the victims of date rape. According to the police report, the woman and her friend had been out drinking when they realized they were too drunk to drive home. The two stayed at an acquaintance’s house. One of the women believed her drink may have been spiked. The reporting woman said she recollected that the acquaintance had come into the bedroom she and her friend were sleeping in and had forced each of them to have sex with him.

• Husband attacks wife with knife: At 2:43 a.m. Dec. 11 in the 31000 block of 2nd Lane SW, officers responded to a domestic violence call. Upon their arrival, they discovered a husband and wife had been in a violent argument. According to the police report, the husband punched the wife at one point, and also picked up a kitchen knife and cut her in the back with it. The husband was arrested and booked.

• Post office unsecured: At 5:06 a.m. Dec. 11 in the 32000 block of Pacific Highway South, a U.S. postal inspector called police to indicate that the building may have been left unsecured. According to the police report, it appeared entry may have been gained because an office door was open, and a back door was unlocked. The report also noted a hole had been cut in the fence around the facility.

• Angry grandma: At 12:56 p.m. Dec. 11 in the 30000 block of 16th Place SW, police responded to a call about a loud argument coming from a residence. According to the police report, a father had bought his son a toy. The toy was an action figure holding a laser gun. The boy’s grandmother was present, and became very upset at the fact that the toy was holding a gun. Police escorted the grandmother out of the residence, and a family member drove her elsewhere.

• Wallet full of debit cards: At 3 p.m. Dec. 4 in the 33000 block of 8th Avenue South, a man found a wallet full of other people’s Bank of America cards had been left in his work mailbox. The man sent out a company-wide email asking if anyone owned it, and did not receive a reply. The man also attempted to track down some of the card owners, but was unsuccessful. The wallet was taken by police and destroyed.

• Damaged vehicle: At 4:36 p.m. Dec. 8 in the 1800 block of S 281st Place, a woman reported that her vehicle had been extensively damaged. According to the police report, the damage was estimated at $1,270. The victim believed her ex-husband was responsible, but had no evidence to substantiate the claim.

• Burglary: At 7:43 p.m. Dec. 11 in the 3300 block of SW 319th Place, the victim reported a burglary. According to the police report, stolen items included a 42-inch TV valued at $500, $1,500 in jewelry and a Smith and Wesson .38 handgun.
