Inappropriately touching child: At 10:37 a.m. on South 320th Street, there was a report that a bus driver was inappropriately touching a 4-year-old student. The reporting party stated that the incident occurred over the course of a month and took place while the student was on the bus. The bus driver works for a third-party contractor and not the school district.

Woman swindled out of $40,000: At 2:43 p.m. in the 30000 block of Pacific Highway South, the victim reported that she had sought out a fortune teller for assistance. She found a Hispanic male on Facebook who stated he could help her. The victim met with the man, and he said he could help her if she followed his instructions. He gave the victim a map that led her to a box in Tukwila. In the box were letters and photos marked with “death.” The man told the victim the letters meant she was in trouble and he could help her for $59,000 to sacrifice a goat. The victim paid $40,000, and when she was unable to pay the rest, she turned to family, who insisted she call the police. Currently, the case is inactive and deemed legally insufficient. The victim stated she will work with her bank to recover the funds.

Illegal discharge: At 8:15 p.m. in the 100 block of Southwest Campus Drive, the victim stated that he believed a bullet had been fired through his living room window. During the investigation, officers discovered a single 9mm shell casing on the carpet in the victim’s living room along with an apparent bullet entry point through the window. Officers canvassed the apartment building. However, no residents reported hearing a gunshot or observing anything suspicious prior to the incident. No injuries were reported. The shell casing was collected and booked into evidence. At this time, no probable cause for a crime has been established, and no suspect information is available.

May 23

Handgun magazines: At 8:10 a.m. in the 33000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report from Enterprise car rentals that they found a black case with two loaded handgun magazines. No firearm was located.

Gun pointing: At 12:13 p.m. in the 35000 block of Enchanted Parkway South, there was a report that a witness and a girlfriend reported that an unknown suspect had pointed a gun at her boyfriend. The boyfriend declined to cooperate because he said it was not a big deal. The girlfriend was going to testify, but decided not to because of the boyfriend saying it was not a big deal.

Not human bones turned in: At 3:51 p.m. in the 33000 block of 8th Avenue South, there was a report that a man brought bones into the police station that he discovered on his property. The man said that his dogs were digging a hole in his backyard, and when he dug into the hole, he discovered the bones. The man refused to sign a recorded statement of the incident. Officers spoke with a King County forensic anthropologist who asserted that the bones were not human. The bones were properly discarded.

Man breaks credit card reader: At 8:53 p.m. in the 1600 block of Southwest Dash Point Road, there was a report that an unknown race male wearing a green and black jacket, green spandex shorts and a black backpack broke their credit card reader following a verbal dispute. The male had been verbal with employees previously, causing them to refuse service. The male then smashed the card reader. Its value was estimated at $250. Male not located during area check.

Robbery: At 10:41 p.m. in the 34000 block of 2nd Lane South, there was a report of a carjacking by means of physical force. The suspect fled in the victim’s vehicle prior to officers arriving.

May 24

Robbery: At 7:05 p.m. in the 2300 block of Southwest 336th Street, there was a report from a victim who said he was robbed. The victim said that he was sitting in his vehicle when a male drove up next to him and demanded money. The victim stated that no threats were made and that he complied, giving the male cash. The victim stated that he did not wish to press charges, but rather wanted to speak with an officer to provide information. Due to the victim not wanting to press charges, there is no crime in this incident.

Car rolls down driveway: At 7:12 p.m. in the 29000 block of 223rd Place South, there was a report that a juvenile resident started a vehicle for her mother. The vehicle rolled down the driveway, went through the garage door and crashed into the house.

May 25

Group fighting: At 2:09 a.m. in the 1900 block of South 304th Street, there was a report that officers responded to a non-injury shooting. Officers arrived on the scene and located a large group of people fighting. Officers detained multiple people and de-escalated the fighting.

May 26

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Child falls out of window: At 2:05 p.m. in the 1300 block of Southwest Campus Drive, there was a report that a child fell 10 feet from a window and onto a vehicle. When an officer arrived on the scene, he observed that the child was conscious and was being treated by medical personnel. The reporting party stated that the child fell from the second-story window onto the vehicle parked in the driveway. The vehicle was dented from the impact. The child suffered non-life-threatening injuries at the time of the report

Attempted robbery: At 6:35 p.m. in the 1900 block of South Commons, officers responded to the location regarding an attempted armed robbery. The primary suspect flashed a firearm and attempted to take the victim’s clothing. Seven subjects were said to be involved. The primary suspect was not located. Two subjects were detained at the Federal Way Transit Center, but were released. No leads on the suspect’s identity.

Burglary: At 4 p.m. in the 31000 block of 3rd Place Southwest, there was a report of a forced entry residential burglary.
