Domestic violence at the park: At 12:32 a.m. on Aug. 24 in the 2200 block of S 333rd St., an upset couple called police on each other while at a park because each had allegedly assaulted each other. The husband, 38, said his wife, 22, pulled his shirt while the wife alleged the husband took her purse and phone after hitting her in the head and pulling her hair out. Their 2.5 year old child was with them at the time.

Non-English-speaking woman choked: At 2:50 a.m. on Aug. 24 in the 300 block of SW 294 Place, a 32-year-old man was arrested for allegedly punching a 38-year-old woman he was dating and strangling her neck. Police responded to a call from the woman’s friend, as the woman could not speak English. An officer witnessed a swollen left eye and red marks on the neck of the crying woman. The woman’s statement in Korean read that she, her friend and the man she was dating went to a bar earlier that evening when the man got angry, started yelling at her and choked her for “about a minute.” The man denied the altercation but said the woman had gotten upset because he spoke to another woman at the bar. But the scratches on his arm were from getting cut at work, he said.

Family escapes through window: At 5:59 a.m. on Aug. 24 in the 100 block of S. 340th St., a 31-year-old man was arrested for kicking and striking a woman with a belt multiple times. Officers were dispatched after a person called 911 because they heard a child screaming for help from an apartment building. At the scene, officers found a woman with a 6-year-old girl and 8-year-old girl walking outside barefoot. Hesitant to speak with officers, the girls spoke with their mother in Spanish and then told police officers what happened, which the mother confirmed. She had a small scratch on her face, a bleeding ear and a bleeding shin, the police report states. The officer went to the family’s apartment and identified the man getting into a yellow Ford Mustang. He was immediately placed under arrest and taken to SCORE jail. A written statement from the mother later explained the man was at a party drinking before he returned home and started hitting her. In order to escape, the mother and her two children had to climb out of their master bedroom apartment window.

Man’s car windows broken: At 8:19 a.m. on Aug. 24 in the 1600 block of S. 288th St., a man awoke to some loud banging outside of his apartment. When he went to check on it, he found both his black 2002 Chevy and silver 2003 Volkswagen had broken windows.

Police find feces, dead birds and mice in house: At 9:57 a.m. on Aug. 24 in the 5400 block of SW 326th Court, police were called to check on an 82-year-old woman. A neighbor went to check on her when they saw an unknown male upstairs flee into a bedroom. The neighbor was unsure if this was an intruder, the woman’s son or a caregiver. Police later identified the man as her 52-year-old son but noted the residence was uninhabitable because the floor was covered in animal and human feces and dead, decayed birds and mice. The son later told police his mother suffers from dementia and is unable to care for herself. The woman was involuntarily committed.

Man tries to steal stuff from Target: At 2:44 p.m. on Aug. 24 in the 2200 block of S. Commons, a man was arrested for attempting to steal $130 worth of products from Target. He concealed the items, walked through the cash register area and out the doors without paying before police arrived. During a search, officers found the man was in possession of drug paraphernalia associated with heroin.

Men robbed at gunpoint: At 1:39 a.m. on Aug. 23 in the 2500 block of S. 316th Lane, police responded to a robbery report at Gateway Cinemas. Two men said they were supposed to meet someone to retrieve some tools that were stolen from them. But while they were waiting in their car at the Woodside Apartments, they were approached by four suspects who robbed them at gunpoint.

Man angry at wife for not enough sex: At 11:45 a.m. on Aug. 23 in the 3000 block of S. 288th St., Police were called to a married couple’s residence. The police report states they got into an argument because the husband, who had allegedly been drinking, was upset his wife wasn’t having enough sex with him. The husband agreed to have a cousin pick him up to cool off. Both stated there was no physical altercation.

Suspect bites officer: At 3 p.m. on Aug. 23 in the 1600 block of S. 348th St., a 20-year-old was booked into SCORE jail for felony possession of stolen credit cards, checks, a driver’s license and “global cash.” The suspect attempted to flee on foot and bit and kicked an officer multiple times.

Man walks into woman’s apartment, threatens her: At 2:47 p.m. on Aug. 23 in the 2300 block of SW 334th Place, a 21-year-old woman reported a man walked into her apartment while she was babysitting a 5-year-old and threatened to kill her. She said she heard someone walk in through the unlocked front door and say “I need to use your bathroom.” She went to the bathroom and saw a man she knows relieving himself in her toilet. She immediately asked him to leave and he replied that he was going to come back and kill her after she has her baby. The woman is currently pregnant. He ran out of the apartment and got into a blue Honda and left. The woman told police the man is a family friend of 13 years but she hadn’t seen him in six months and isn’t sure how he knew where she was living. Additionally, she has never had any type of domestic relationship with him, the police report states.

Woman raped after hitch hiking: At 4:53 a.m. on Aug. 21 in the 37100 block of Milton Road S., a woman said she was raped after she hitch hiked with a man with dark hair and blue eyes. The woman was dropped off at a gas station in the middle of the night after a friend had driven her from Redmond. The woman and her boyfriend had gotten into an argument at a bar. After being dropped off, she hopped the fence, hitch hiked a ride but was then allegedly raped by the man. After struggling, she escaped and called police. Police officers helped her retrace where the crime occurred but she got confused and said she had been drinking. Officers noted she had facial injuries and blood on her shirt, however, there were inconsistencies in her report. Police took her to St. Francis Hospital for a rape kit to be performed but, once there, she refused despite doctor’s advice because “this” has happened before. Officers closed the case.

Woman throws bowl at husband: At 11:34 a.m. on Aug. 21 in the 31100 block of 51 Ave. SW, a woman was involuntarily committed to St.Francis Hospital after her husband called police because his “wife was getting out of control,” according to the police report. He said she threw a cereal bowl towards him for no reason and is concerned for his and her safety. He also noted her symptoms of dementia have been getting progressively worse.
