Woman injured after car drives into Federal Way church

One woman was injured after a driver plowed their car into a Federal Way church on Sunday.

The Potter’s House Christian Fellowship Church, located at 30814 Pacific Highway South, now has a giant hole in the wall that leads to the parking lot. The damage is about 10 feet deep into the building.

Capt. Jeff Bellinghausen said the driver of a Buick LeSabre crashed into the building at approximately 2:20 p.m. Sunday, which sent a woman in her 50s to a local hospital with a leg injury. After the vehicle was pulled out of the building, firefighters determined the building could not be occupied at this time.

The strip mall church is located near Brookhaven Apartment homes and the NorthStar Driving Academy, among other businesses.
