Federal Way police continue to investigate the homicides that were committed last week, but officials say there are still no suspects in any of the three killings that shocked the community last Monday and Tuesday.

“There have been no suspects identified at this time in any of the three homicides which occurred May 9 and 10,” said police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock in an email. “Extensive work continues (as it did all weekend) to develop leads through work with the King County Prosecutor’s Office, the [Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives], and the Washington State Patrol.

“Increased patrols will continue, and the extra staffing in the detective unit remains. The emphasis to bring the person(s) responsible for this increase in violent crime/gun violence will continue.”

Schrock also said that Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound received another $1,000 private donation in one of the homicide cases. The reward for information that leads to an arrest in the Adam Gutierrez murder is now $17,000, which is composed of Crime Stoppers’ normal $1,000 reward as well as $16,000 in private donations.

A $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in the homicide of Alex Kelley and Frank Cohens, Jr. (killed May 9 and 10, respectively) is also available through Crime Stoppers, as is a $1,000 reward for such information in the Jeffrey McLaren (killed April 3) homicide case.

Citizens with information on the homicides can call Crime Stoppers’ anonymous tip line at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). They can also call the Federal Way Police Department’s non-emergency line at 253-835- 2121 or visit the department’s anonymous tip website, www.safecityfw.com.
