The Todd Beamer High School dance team took home the first place trophy in the 4A Hip Hop category at last weekend’s West Central District III Dance and Drill Championship.

The Titans beat out seven other hip hop performances to earn the win and qualify to compete at the WIAA State Championship competition at the Yakima Valley Sundome on March 25.

This week, the team heads to Anaheim, Calif., to appear at the USA Dance Nationals competition, where they’ll compete in the championship division against other high-scoring teams from across the country. The Titans have placed second and third in prior years at this event.

The 24-member Todd Beamer High School dance team holds eight state championship titles. The team is coached by Valicia Valiani, its assistant coach is Teddy Bakke, and its team captains are Josh Moran, Layne Hardin and Natalie Smith. Their hip-hop routine this year is choreographed by Daniel Cruz.
