TJ’s Black Student Union to host teen empowerment summit

Thomas Jefferson High School's Black Student Union will host a teen summit 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 3 to empower and encourage youth to come together and discuss how to achieve excellence in life.

Thomas Jefferson High School’s Black Student Union will host a teen summit 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 3 to empower and encourage youth to come together and discuss how to achieve excellence in life.

“What hinders you from attaining excellence in every area of your life?” is a question every student who participates is asked. Topics include overcoming racial, cultural, social and leadership barriers — and how to build skills for success.

The summit is for students in grades 8-12. Cost is $10, but assistance is available to those who cannot afford it. Talent show and food available. Contact TJHSBSU@Gmail.com or (253) 314-3720. Thomas Jefferson High School is located at 4248 S. 288th St.
