There were two vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Illegal discharge: At 2:19 a.m. in the 29000 block of 21st Place South, there was a report of an illegal discharge. Upon the officers’ arrival, they located several shell casings in the roadway. No injuries were reported, and no bullet defects were located on buildings or vehicles.
Armed robbery: At 7:49 a.m. in the 31000 block of Gateway Center Boulevard, there was a report of an armed robbery at a business. Upon investigation, probable cause was developed for first-degree robbery. The suspect was not located.
Stolen package: At 9:35 a.m. in the 100 block of South 340th Street, there was a report that an Amazon package was stolen that contained a new HP laptop. No surveillance and no suspect information.
Stolen car found on fire: At 12:07 p.m. in the 1300 block of South 308th Street, there was a report from someone that their rental vehicle was stolen in Federal Way. The stolen vehicle was found set on fire by the Seattle Fire Department. No suspect information except for an Arizona driver’s license that was found in the vehicle, which did not belong to the registered owner. The license appears to be counterfeit.
Person struck in the face: At 1:07 p.m. in the 31000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report that the suspect approached a victim, and after the victim told the suspect to stay away from them, the suspect struck the victim in the face with his left hand, leaving a mark on the victim’s lip. The victim ran to Barnes and Noble and called 911.
July 31
There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.
Woman miscarriages: At 12:40 p.m. in the 33000 block of 8th Avenue South, there was a report that there was a medical call involving a woman having a miscarriage who did not know she was pregnant. No suspicious circumstances. The woman arrived at work and began having cramping and heavy bleeding. Fire and medics took the remains and estimated that the fetus was under 20 weeks old. No crime.
Sexual assault at Federal Way club: At 11:46 a.m. in the 33000 block of 8th Avenue South, there was a report that officers responded to a sexual assault report by phone from the Bellevue Police Department. The victim reported being raped at a nightclub in Federal Way.
Reckless burning: At 3:08 p.m. in the 2400 block of South 320th Street, officers responded to a fire. The reporting party stated that they witnessed a male initially start a fire and walk east toward the Commons Mall. The male was described as a 4-foot-4-inch Hispanic or Polynesian man wearing a brown sweater. South King Fire extinguished the fire and declined to bring out a fire extinguisher. There was no damage to any structures or any injuries. The suspect was not located and is pending any leads. The case is inactive.
Aug. 1
There were three vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.
Drove off with gas line: At 12:07 a.m. in the 1600 block of SW 312th Street, there was a report that officers contacted an employee who stated that a subject was filling up their vehicle at one of the gas pumps and when the driver finished filling their tank, they drove off with the nozzle still inside the gas tank. It was determined that there was no crime involved, and it appears that the driver was unaware that they had forgotten to remove the gas nozzle from the gas tank. It is unknown how much it will cost to repair the nozzle damage.
Dog food stolen: At 9 a.m. in the 31000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report that at Petco, a male walked out of the store with two large bags of dog food and a couple of miscellaneous items. Probable cause for third-degree theft was established. The male left the scene in an older-style Ford Bronco and was unable to be identified.
Drinking in the store: At 11:51 a.m. in the 1200 block of South 320th Street, there was a report that officers were dispatched to an unwanted subject at Safeway. The subject had been seen drinking in the store and was confrontational with the staff. Safeway wanted the subject trespassed.
Bullet defect in a mailbox: At 2:22 p.m. in the 2900 block of 21st Place South, there was a report that officers were contacted by a mail carrier who stated that there was a bullet inside an apartment mailbox. Officers arrived on the scene and took pictures of the mailbox. There was a hole in the north side of the mailbox near the outgoing mail section. The postal worker arrived on scene and opened the mailbox with a key. Officers took pictures of the bronze bullet inside and the bullet defect on the mailbox. There were no witnesses or camera footage available. The case is inactive. Leads exhausted.
Illegal discharge: At 5:06 p.m. in the 1900 block of South 333rd Street, there was a report of an illegal discharge. A witness said that he saw the incident and stated that three subjects, possibly juveniles, had an altercation with a subject in a maroon Honda SUV. A male subject in a white jersey fired one round into the ground during the altercation, and he believed that the subject in the vehicle was not hit. Officers located one cartridge casing and no other victims called 911.

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.
Jumping over the counter and stealing: At 3:02 a.m. in the 34000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a reported robbery at 7-Eleven. Through investigation, probable cause was established for theft. The reporting party advised that four light-skinned Black males jumped over the counter and stole miscellaneous items. The suspects then fled westbound on South 348th Street in a newer black sedan with what appeared to be a white towel covering the rear license plate. The same vehicle was reported at other incidents in Seattle and Kent in which four light-skinned Black males committed similar thefts at gas stations.
Chains stolen: At 2:05 p.m. on 21st Avenue Southwest and Southwest 330th Street, there was a report that a man said that he was walking along 21st Avenue Southwest, when at the intersection, a black SUV was waiting for him, and when he got there, two white males and two white females stole two gold chains off of his person. No video surveillance was captured. No suspect information. Case is inactive, leads exhausted.

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Residential burglary: At 4:47 p.m. on 28th Avenue Southwest, there was a report that an unknown suspect broke a window of a residence and gained unlawful entry. The suspect exited through the front door. It did not appear that anything was taken from within. No leads on suspect identity.
$2,800 of glasses stolen: At 2:51 p.m. in the 31000 block of Pacific Highway South, officers were dispatched to LensCrafters to a report of a shoplifting in progress. The suspect entered the business, took seven pairs of glasses that were valued at $400 each and left the business without paying. Upon arrival, the suspect had already left in a vehicle in an unknown direction, and employees did not get a license number. The suspect is described as a Black male around 6 feet tall with gray and black dreads, a beard, a red sweater and blue jeans. An employee took a picture of the suspect.

Person pretends to be hotel patron: At 2:09 a.m. on Pacific Highway South, there was a report that a suspect entered the hotel and pretended to be a patron. The suspect requested a pillow and blanket, and the employee provided them. The suspect then exited the hotel with the items, but was located and detained without incident. Property recovered and returned to the hotel.
$9,000 in copper stolen: At 9:01 a.m. on South 320th Street, a local apartment complex reported that an unknown individual had stolen 60 feet of copper wire from their trash compactors three separate times in the last month. The total repair costs approximately $9,000. The suspect was seen on surveillance cameras all three times, but the images are not clear.
$4,000 taken from storage unit: At 4:21 p.m. on Pacific Highway South, a victim reported that $4,000 worth of items were taken from their storage unit. No leads or possible suspects.

Dine-and-dash: At 11:43 a.m. in the 31000 block of Gateway Center Boulevard, there was a report of theft at Red Robin. The suspect walked out without paying for their bill. Officers located the suspect and detained them. The manager did not want to prosecute, but did want to trespass the suspect from the property.
