Suspect steals safe from country club | Federal Way Police Blotter

Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log from May 24-30.

May 24

There were at least 6 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Attempted ATM break-in: At about 1:35 a.m. near the 1400 block of South 320th Street, officers responded to reports of a suspicious suspect at a bank. The suspect had attempted to break into an ATM but was unsuccessful.

May 25

There were at least 4 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Suspect breaks glass door: At about 3:53 a.m. near the 32000 block of 32nd Avenue South, officers responded to a burglary. A suspect broke the glass front door of the building. Security footage shows the suspect entering the building and then leaving in a dark-colored truck.

May 26

There were at least 12 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Overdoses in parking lot: At about 12:49 a.m. near the 2200 block of South Commons, officers and fire crews responded to the Target after reports of an unconscious man and a woman found lying in the parking lot. Fire crews began life-saving measures. The two people were determined to be unconscious due to an overdose. Officers discovered a no-contact order between the two people. The man was transported to St. Francis Hospital where staff told officers he would likely have brain damage from the overdose. The woman was transported to another city’s hospital for care.

Suspect steals purse: At about 12:49 p.m. near the 33400 block of 21st Avenue SW, an employee was showing the Westway Community Center to clients when a tan sedan stopped. A man exited the vehicle, pushed the employee and stole her purse.

May 27

There were at least 4 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

DUI driver: At about 1:21 a.m. near the 26000 block of Pacific Highway South, officers saw a driver passed out behind the wheel while stopped at a green light. Officers deployed stop sticks under the vehicle. The driver then drove over the stop sticks, through the intersection and into a parking lot. The driver was arrested for DUI.

May 28

There were at least 4 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Found child: At about 5:46 p.m. near the 1000 block of South 324th Place, a child was found at Celebration Park. The child was seen crying and chasing after a Jeep Wrangler. Shortly after police arrived, the mother of the child returned in the Jeep to retrieve her child.

May 29

There were at least 2 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Stolen safe: At about 4:13 a.m. near the 3500 block of SW 320th Street, the Twin Lakes Golf and Country Club was broken into and a safe was stolen.

Kittens surrendered: At about 4:19 p.m. near the 30200 block of 13th Avenue South, an owner surrendered five kittens to animal control.
