Suspect reportedly attacks officer with soda bottle, fists | Federal Way Police Blotter

Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log from August 2 - 8

Aug. 2

There were at least 4 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Residential burglary: A forced entry burglary was reported in the afternoon in the 32800 block of 40th Court SW.

Aug. 3

There were at least 8 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Knife threat: FWPD responded to reports of a man waving a knife around and threatening customers at the 160 SW Campus Drive Winco around 3 a.m. The suspect was apprehended and identified, but no probable cause was established for his arrest, so he was released.

Robbery: A robbery victim said that three men pointed firearms at him and took his vehicle at gunpoint near the 33300 block of 11th Ave. SW around 4:40 a.m. Officers observed the car the suspects arrived in but were unsuccessful in arresting them.

Juvenile problem: Several callers reported around 11 a.m. that a group of three ski mask-wearing juveniles near the 34000 block of Hoyt Road SW had scratched a vehicle and were throwing rocks.

Aug. 4

There were at least 6 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Burglary: A forced entry burglary was reported around 3 a.m. in the 30600 block of Pacific Highway S.

Armed robbery: An officer responded to the 100 block of SW Campus Drive around 8:30 a.m. for a reported armed robbery.

Commercial burglary: An investigation and video surveillance showed two men enter a business in the 1700 block of S. 324th Street and steal about $1,000 around 7:30 a.m.

Burglary: The Dairy Queen in the 2300 block of SW 336th Street was reported burglarized.

Robbery: A strong-arm robbery was reported around 9:45 a.m. in the 32400 block of Pacific Highway S.

Amazon driver robbed: An Amazon delivery driver reported being confronted by three juveniles in the 35700 block of 16th Ave. S. One of the juveniles produced a handgun and they demanded his phone and vehicle keys. When residents nearby came outside, the suspects were scared off.

Aug. 5

There were at least 8 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Gun threats: A victim in the 32000 block of 1st Ave. South said a vehicle occupied by three young men and a young woman followed the victim and pointed multiple firearms at them around 5 p.m. The suspect vehicle fled the area and wasn’t located.

Aug. 6

There were at least 6 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Street robbery: A victim and witness in the parking lot of Hobby Lobby at the 35000 block of Enchanted Parkway S. reported that around 6:45 p.m., three men approached the victim; one produced what appeared to be a handgun and demanded the victim’s purse and car keys. The suspects all fled in a white sedan near Enchanted Parkway. Officers recovered the purse, empty, on Pacific Highway S.

Robbery: A victim leaving Walmart in the 34500 block of 16th Ave. S. around 6:30 p.m. reported that as she was leaving Walmart and about to place items in her vehicle, a man approached from behind and tried to take her purse. She was knocked to the ground, and the suspect fled the area, unable to actually steal anything from her, after another citizen went over to assist her.

Aug. 7

There were at least 5 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Assault on officer: A suspect reportedly assaulted a Federal Way PD officer with a soda bottle and his fists in the 31000 block of Pacific Highway S. in the evening. He was arrested and booked into jail.

Aug. 8

There were at least 8 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Residential burglary: An unknown suspect entered a residence in the 35400 block of 25th Ave. SW through an unsecured door in the early afternoon and took a laptop.
