Student artwork on display at Federal Way court

The Federal Way City Council will recognize the Arts Commission/Federal Way Municipal Court Student Arts Show winners at 7 p.m. July 6 at City Hall. A reception will take place at 6 p.m. in the Hylebos Room at City Hall. The public is welcome.

The theme “Liberty and Justice for All” was selected as the basis for all entries. The contest was divided into elementary school, middle school, and high school with the three first place winners receiving $100 and the three second place winners awarded $50. The first place winners will have their artwork displayed in the lobby of the Federal Way Municipal Court until next spring.

The first place winners were: Mohammed Ramzan (Valhalla Elementary School), Carlos Davalos (Saghalie Middle School), Edwin Gonzalez (Truman High School). The second place winners were: Johonda Pashelk (Mark Twain Elementary School), Jordan Lee Shipman (Saghalie Middle School), Jeremy Jensen (Todd Beamer High School). There was also a certificate for Juan Ocampo for his participation in the program (Saghalie Middle School).
