Burglary: At 10:31 a.m. in the 35000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report that a vacant business was burglarized.
Firearm theft: At 12:44 p.m. in the 34000 block of Second Lane South, there was a report that officers investigated a firearm theft. A suspect was identified, and the case was forwarded to criminal investigations.
Threat with a knife: At 2:53 p.m. in the 27000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report that officers responded to threats with a knife. The suspect was taken into custody for weapons apparently capable. The suspect was booked into SCORE jail.
Employee stealing: At 3:45 p.m. on Pacific Highway South, officers responded to a report of an employee refunding money above and beyond the sale price to their own bank card. Officers established probable cause for theft. Subject arrested and charged.
Dec. 10
There were four vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.
Weapon violation: At 5:06 p.m. in the 1000 block of South 348th Street, there was a report that officers conducted a stop on a vehicle, and the driver was found to have a warrant. When the man was arrested, officers discovered that he was carrying a firearm without a concealed pistol license. He was booked on his warrant, and he will be charged with a CPL violation
Dec. 11
There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Spitting on security guard: At 5:58 p.m. in the 31000 block of 23rd Avenue South, there was a report that a civilian at the Federal Way Metro Transit Center spit in the face of an on-duty security guard after being denied permission to enter a bus. The individual was arrested and later transported to King County Jail.
Dec. 12
There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.
Student produces firearm: At 3:43 p.m. at a Federal Way high school, a student during an argument exited his vehicle with a firearm in his hand in the parking lot.
Firearm left: At 6:10 p.m. in the 35000 block of Enchanted Parkway South, there was a report that officers were dispatched to a report of a firearm found in a bag left behind in a store. Officers reviewed footage in the store and identified the man who left his bag behind. He was contacted and found to have a CPL. Police educated him about the danger of forgetfulness.
Man assaulted after being rear-ended: At 6:51 p.m. at South 288th Street and Pacific Highway South, there was a report that the victim stated that he was coming to a stop when he was rear-ended. The driver of the other vehicle stepped out of his vehicle in the roadway, came up to the driver’s side window of the victim’s vehicle and punched the victim multiple times before driving off. The victim was able to provide a license plate and a description of the subject. The victim stated that he would like to make a recorded statement at a later date. No positive identification of a suspect.
Dec. 13
There was one vehicle theft reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.
Thief arrested: At 2:45 p.m. in the 2100 block of South Commons, there was a report that a known thief was in Target attempting to conceal multiple Nintendo Switch gaming consoles. An officer attempted to stop the thief, but he fled. He was later apprehended.
Dec. 14
There was one vehicle theft reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Catalytic converter stolen: At 1:46 a.m. on South Commons, there was a report that a victim said that while he was at the movies, unknown suspects stole his catalytic converter. The man said he thought something was unusual when he started his car, but he thought nothing of it because of his car’s age. However, when he arrived home, he found that his catalytic converter was missing. Officers attempted to access security cameras, but were unable to contact security. The case is considered closed due to all leads being exhausted.
Residential burglary: At 11:24 a.m. on Pacific Highway South, there was a report that officers were dispatched for a residential burglary.
Dec. 15
There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Copper stolen: At 8:24 a.m. on Pacific Highway South, there was a report of a burglary. The reporting party advised that someone broke into the construction site and cut the newly installed wiring to steal copper. No suspect leads at this time.
Weapons violation: At 11 a.m. on 16th Avenue South, there was a report of a weapons violation.
Gun flashed: At 5:52 p.m. on South Dash Point Road, someone reported that a man in a silver Infiniti with a loud exhaust got into a traffic dispute with an unidentified person in a Prius. The witness did not hear what was said between the two. The reporting party stated that the driver of the Infiniti pulled out a black handgun and waved it at the Prius.
