Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:

• Sex offender: At 4:37 p.m. in the 5700 block of Dash Point Road on June 26, police were called regarding a man taking photographs of young boys at Dash Point State Park. The man was contacted by park rangers and the Washington State Patrol relayed that the man was a level-one sex offender, according to the police report. The man was taken into custody.

• Robbery: At 1:39 a.m. in the 2400 block of Star Lake Road on June 28, a victim reported that he was walking home from a bar when he was confronted by a man with a silver handgun. The suspect told the victim to give him all his money, according to the police report. The victim emptied his pockets and the suspect got away with $2 and ran away. The victim was unable to identify the suspect and declined to give a statement.

• Shooting pigeons: At 12:17 p.m. in the 34000 block of Pacific Highway South on June 28, a woman called police to report that she witnessed a man shooting pigeons with a BB gun outside of a business, according to a police report. The woman said the man shot a bird, picked it up and threw it in the trash.

• Claim: At 7:31 p.m. in the 1400 block of Southwest 314th Street on June 28, a woman called 911 to report that her friend knows that teachers at a school have been raping students and then covering it up, according to a police report. The woman said it’s been happening since 1992. There are no known victims, suspects or evidence of any crime being committed, according to the report.

• Assault: At 10:33 p.m. in the 1900 block of Southwest 324th Street on June 24, a female contacted police to say that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend and then the phone disconnected, according to the police report. A male then called police back and advised that he wanted to tell them he didn’t assault anyone. He said the woman was trying to get him arrested, but no assault occurred, according to the report. Police were unable to contact the woman.

• Runaway: At 4:26 p.m. in the 2900 block of South 284th Street on June 24, a woman reported that her son had left home without permission. The woman said she found a “goodbye note” and got a call from her son saying he was at the airport and was going to see his father, according to the police report. The boy hadn’t seen his father since his parents divorced two years ago and the woman believes the two have been in contact and secretly planning on spending the summer together, according to the report.

• Assault: At 5:16 p.m. in the 1900 block of South Commons on June 24, a physical dispute between teen boys was reported. One boy said he was assaulted because the other boy believed he egged his house a couple weeks ago. It stemmed from an incident at school, in which the boy allegedly called his friend a racial slur, according to the police report.

• Rape: At 2:51 p.m. in the 31000 block of 28th Avenue South on June 27, a woman reported that she was walking home from a bar in the area when she was abducted by three unknown males in a vehicle, according to the police report. The victim then said she was sexually assaulted on a nearby road, according to the report.

• Intervention: At 9:56 p.m. in the 32000 block of 23rd Avenue South on June 25, a woman reported that she was having an intervention for her daughter at a restaurant. The daughter then called two friends, who arrived and pushed her mother out of the way and into a wall before taking the daughter away, according to the police report. The mother was not injured.

• Assault: At 12:56 p.m. in the 3000 block of Southwest 317th Place on June 25, a male suspect allegedly punched a roommate in the mouth. The two reside together in an adult family home. The suspect has a history of violent behavior against staff and other clients at several other homes, according to the police report. The man was arrested and booked into King County Jail.

• Fire starter: At 6:48 a.m. in the 35000 block of 25th Avenue Southwest on June 26, a woman called police to report that her 8-year-old son had started a fire in his bedroom and left, according to the police report. The boy has a history of starting fires and is currently in counseling. The boy was contacted and claimed he didn’t start a fire.

• Armed robbery: At 11:54 a.m. in the 2100 block of Southwest 356th Street on June 26, a worker reported that a female suspect entered a business and told the clerk that she had a gun and demanded money, according to the police report. The suspect left with $500 in cash.

• Broken cell: At 4:51 p.m. in the 29000 block of 22nd Avenue South on June 26, a mother and daughter were reported to be in a verbal argument. The argument stemmed from the mother taking her 12-year-old daughter’s cell phone and destroying it as a disciplinary action, according to a police report. There were no injuries reported.
