Man flees on foot: At 12:23 a.m. on South 328th Street, there was a report that a subject fled on foot after being advised that he was detained. Charges were forwarded to the prosecutor for obstructing a law enforcement officer.
Armed robbery: At 6:27 a.m. on Pacific Highway South, there was a report that officers responded to a call at a closed-down business parking lot regarding a male who said that two males and a female approached him, threatened him with a knife and stole his chair. The victim was not injured and did not want to move forward with prosecution.
Catalytic converter stolen: At 5:09 p.m. in the 35000 block of Enchanted Parkway South, there was a report from someone who said that their parents’ Ford F450 had its catalytic converter stolen while they were shopping inside Costco. The victim said that it likely occurred between 4 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. No suspect information. The catalytic converter is worth about $1,500.

$25,000 worth of items stolen: At 2:17 p.m. in the 35000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report that a storage unit was broken into and $25,000 worth of items were stolen.

There were two vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.
Residential fire: At 1:59 p.m. in the 32000 block of 19th Place Southwest, there was a report of a residential fire. The solo female occupant received no injuries from the fire. The occupant stated that while getting ready to shower, she lit a candle in the bedroom. The resident left the bedroom, and when she returned, the bedroom was ablaze. The resident and the single dog exited the house.
Middle schooler attacked: At 3:52 p.m. in the 2200 block of South Star Lake Road, there was a report from a juvenile female in eighth grade who reported that she was assaulted by another juvenile female when she got off the school bus. The victim said that the suspect pulled her to the ground by her hair and hit her multiple times. The victim had a scrape on her elbow and a red bump on her head. The victim did not know the suspect’s name and did not want to prosecute. The mother of the victim agreed that she did not want to prosecute.
Shirts with messages: At 11:02 p.m. in the 35000 block of 16th Avenue South, the reporting party said that someone put two T-shirts on her mother’s car, and one said “Shootings make us great.” The reporting party expressed concern as she stated that her mother is a person of color. The reporting party did not see who placed the shirts and was unable to contact the apartment management to view footage.

DUI crash: At 4:09 a.m. in the 33000 block of Weyerhaeuser Way South, there was a report of a single vehicle collision with a possible intoxicated driver. Officers arrived in the area and the reporting party pointed out the male driver, who had walked about a half mile away from the collision. Probable cause for driving under the influence, and the male was placed under arrest.
Burglary: At 8:52 p.m. in the 30000 block of First Avenue South, there was a report of a non-residential burglary.

Car abandoned in the road: At 1:03 a.m. in the 27000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report that a vehicle whose driver was suspected of a DUI hit-and-run in Kent was found abandoned in the left lane. The car’s door was open, and the only witness said they saw the driver exit and get into a white car and continue on the road.
Explicit graffiti on car: At 6:23 p.m. on 21st Avenue Southwest, there was a report from someone who said their vehicle was vandalized. He said that the vehicle had a penis spray-painted on the driver’s side, with the word penis painted on the car as well. Two unlicensed cars were seen leaving the scene, but no suspects.

There were three vehicle thefts reported, and two vehicles were recovered on this day.
Strong-arm robbery: At 2:48 a.m. in the 33000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report of a strong-arm robbery at a motel. Officers arrived on the scene and investigated. The victim advised that he was attacked randomly, and his phone was taken. Officers could not locate the suspect.
Burglary: At 4:26 a.m. on South 333rd Street, there was a report that officers were dispatched to a commercial burglary. Upon investigating, a particular suite was broken into, but nothing was stolen. Damage to a vehicle parked at the location was also found. No suspect information was identified.
Scholars boxing in school parking lot: At 12:54 p.m. at a Federal Way high school, there was a report that students were participating in a boxing match in the parking lot. During the course of this event, the listed student, who was uninvolved in the incident, had his vehicle damaged. The damage to the vehicle is minor.
Puppy found in dumpster: At 2:25 p.m. on 16th Avenue South, there was a report that a concerned citizen brought a two-week-old puppy into the station that they found in the Crosspointe Apartment complex dumpster. The officer brought the puppy to an emergency hospital. The medical staff stated that the puppy was in critical condition, but the staff said they would reach out to the police if the puppy survives.
Car shot: At 6:29 p.m. on Pacific Highway South, the victim confronted the suspects after learning that they had shot and damaged the back window in his 2013 Acura. The suspects then began assaulting him. Two adults were arrested and booked into SCORE jail, and two juveniles were arrested, interviewed and then released from the Federal Way Police Department.
