Robbery at check-cashing facility | Federal Way crime blotter

Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:
• Robbery: At 6:46 p.m. June 18 at 28722 Pacific Highway South, officers were called to a Checkmate check cashing facility in response to a robbery. A suspect pointed a gun at an employee and customer, ordered them into a teller room, made the employee open the safe and then stole approximately $13,000 in cash. The suspect also took a wallet and two cell phones from the employee and customer.
• Mother/son domestic violence: At 11:55 p.m. June 19 in the 1900 block of Southwest Campus Drive, police were dispatched to a domestic violence call between a mother and her 17-year-old son. The son pushed the woman and then fled the household.
• Came to play: At 2:56 p.m. June 19 in the 900 block of Southwest Campus Drive, a known child arrived at a woman’s doorstep alone. The complainant tried to call the child’s father, who was supposed to be caring for the kid, but could not get a hold of the man. Police were contacted and another relative was called to retrieve the child.
• Prescription fraud: At 10:39 a.m. June 19 at 32015 Pacific Highway South, a victim’s signature was forged by an unknown suspect attempting to obtain prescription medication.
• Stolen and recovered: At 12:29 a.m. June 19 in the 32900 block of 1st Avenue South, a woman’s purse, with her car keys inside, was stolen. The keys were later used to steal the woman’s vehicle. The car was recovered with no damages.
• Italy spending spree: At 5:15 p.m. June 20 in the 3700 block of Southwest 332nd Place, a woman was alerted to possible credit card fraud. During a five-day period, a suspect made fraudulent purchases totaling $5,886.45. The transactions originated in Italy.
• Illegal possession of a weapon: At 9:13 a.m. June 20 at South 312th Street and Pacific Highway South, police conducted a traffic violation stop. A handgun box was spotted in the vehicle’s back seat. The owner did not have a license for the loaded weapon and was arrested.
• Malicious mischief: At 4:28 p.m. June 20 in the 3300 block of Southwest 327th Street, a complainant reported someone threw a rock through the window of his sister’s vehicle. The damage was estimated at $100.
• Easy money: At 2:01 p.m. April 26 in the 1900 block of Southwest Campus Drive, a victim put three MoneyGram orders in the mail. They were stolen and later cashed.
• Swiped video console: At 4:14 p.m. June 18 in the 2500 block of Southwest 334th Street, a woman reported an unknown juvenile stole her son’s Nintendo after the boy left the device on a park bench.
