Reeves, Tagoai advance in primary election

Kristine Reeves and Ashli Tagoai are vying for 30th District State Representative position 2.

Democrat Kristine Reeves is set to face newcomer Republican Ashli Tagoai for Legislative District 30 State Rep. Pos. 2 in the general election, according to early election results on Aug. 2.

Tuesday’s primary election results show Reeves garnered 44% of votes or about 6,467 votes, King County Election results show. Tagoai secured 35% of the vote, or about 5,219 votes.

Opponents Carey Anderson, a Democrat, received about 13% of votes and Mark C. Greene of the GOP (Abe Lincoln) party, trailed with 5%.

In Federal Way, voting turnout so far stands at just over 17% with 14,837 ballots counted of the 82,922 registered voters.

Primary election results are certified Aug. 16. The general election is Tuesday, Nov. 8.
