The preliminary results are in for the King County Council District 7 general election and incumbent Pete von Reichbauer is poised to keep his seat on the council for another four years.
As of Tuesday night, von Reichbauer is in the lead with 14,493 votes, amounting to 68.43 percent of the total votes cast. His opponent, political newcomer Dominique Torgerson, has received 6,480 votes so far, amounting to 30.59 percent of the total votes cast.
Pete von Reichbauer has held the District 7 seat in the King County Council since 1994. Prior to that, he was a state senator, where he represented the 30th Legislative District. He is currently the chair of the Regional Policy Committee and the Government Accountability and Oversight Committee.
The final results will be published on Nov. 24, according to the King County Elections website.
