Potential rapist gets kicked in the crotch | Federal Way crime blotter

Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:

• Quick action: At 9:02 p.m. Dec. 14 in the 1800 block of South 284th Lane, a victim reported a man approached her with a knife. The victim thought the man was going to rape her and kicked him in the crotch. He ran away.

• Troubled runaway: At 1:58 p.m. Dec. 14 in the 34500 block of 28th Place Southwest, a juvenile was reported as a runaway. The juvenile’s guardian let him or her stay at another person’s home, but the juvenile ran away. The guardian believes the runaway is prostituting to make money. The juvenile has a boyfriend who is a gang member.

• Smashed police property: At 12:57 p.m. Dec. 14 in the 1900 block of South 314th Street, a suspect was arrested for smashing the rear window of a Federal Way police vehicle.

• Missing jewelry: At 5:06 p.m. Dec. 13 in the 100 block of South 340th Street, a victim discovered two gold rings missing from her purse.

• Warrant: At 8:12 a.m. Dec. 13 at 1100 S. Dash Point Road, police stopped a motorist for driving without a fuel cap. The driver had a warrant for his or her arrest.

• Rape: At 8:35 a.m. Dec. 13 in the 29200 block of 13th Place South, a juvenile victim reported to his or her parents about being raped by a known person.

• Burglary: At 7:30 p.m. Dec. 14 in the 2400 block of Star Lake Road, police responded to a residential burglary in which an unknown person appears to have used a key to gain access to an apartment.

• Threats: At 8:21 p.m. Dec. 14 in the 100 block of Southwest Campus Drive, a victim reported a suspect threatened to kill her with a knife while the two were in a bedroom together. A witness heard the threat.

• Banned for dancing: At 6:07 p.m. Dec. 14 at 1928 S. Commons, a juvenile was banned from the mall for dancing and congregating there on numerous occasions. The juvenile said he belonged to a local dance group.
