Police suspect that three men who robbed two gas stations in Federal Way early on the morning of July 25 are also responsible for two early morning robberies that occurred July 27 in the Maple Valley area.

The three men have a consistent MO, quickly entering and exiting the gas stations while holding attendants at gunpoint.

In Federal Way, the trio held up two Chevron stations, one located at S. 348th Street and Pacific Highway, and the other located at S. 312th Street and SW Dash Point Road. On the morning of July 27, the suspects robbed a Chevron at 216th Avenue SE in Maple Valley. Their second July 27 robbery happened at a 76/Circle K station located on Black Diamond Road.

According to a release from King County Sherriff’s spokesman John Urquhart, the robbers took cash and cigarettes during the July 27 crimes in Maple Valley. The men are described as white males, in their early 20s. So far, identifying the men has been difficult for police, as the trio has worn dark green or black hooded coats, along with masks.

At about 4:35 a.m. Aug. 1, King County sheriffs believe the trio hit yet another gas station, this time an AM/PM, 17450 SE 272nd St. in Covington. According to Urquhart, the men once again took off with cash and cigarettes. Two other robberies that occurred in Tukwila and Bothell in the early morning hours of Aug. 1 may be tied to these men, Urquhart said. As of press time Monday, the King County Sheriff’s Office had not formally linked those robberies to these men.

Police hope the surveillance photos released on July 28 will help catch the men.
