Police investigating stabbing in Federal Way

The man, 34, was stabbed in his chest during an apparent robbery.

Police are investigating the stabbing of a man that occurred during a robbery on Sunday morning in Federal Way.

Officers responded to a fight call just after 1 a.m. at 312th Street and Pacific Highway South. While police were en route, the call escalated to a stabbing, according to Federal Way police Cmdr. Kurt Schwan.

Police located a 34-year-old man with apparent stab wounds to his chest and discovered the two suspects had fled on foot, Schwan stated.

The Federal Way Police Department, assisted by Washington State Patrol air support, conducted a K9 search. Police located to men, ages 23 and 31.

All three men were transported to Harborview Medical Center for injuries they sustained during the incident. Schwan noted the extent of the three men’s injuries is unknown, but police do not believe they are life-threatening.

None of the involved parties cooperated or were able to cooperate on Sunday morning, Schwan stated.

The motive for the incident may have been a robbery, but that is still under investigation, he added.

The two suspects were later booked into King County Jail.
