The men were snoring while laying on the public trail between Celebration Park and 1st Avenue South. One man’s face reddened due to direct exposure from the sun. A few passersby were concerned for the health and safety of the two men, who were out cold.

A Federal Way police officer on a motorcycle responded to the call for help at about 10:15 a.m. The officer awoke the groggy guys, who said they had been drinking. The officer handcuffed the men on suspicion of being minors in possession of alcohol. The legal drinking age is 21.

On a shady bench just off the trail: a full bottle of Dr Pepper and a nearly empty bottle of Rich and Rare blended Canadian whiskey.

As the men sat on the trail with their hands cuffed behind their backs, they complimented Officer Hodge’s motorcycle. One asked if it was a Honda or a BMW, after the other one said, “Nice bike.” They asked several questions about the Honda ST1300 as three more police officers arrived on foot.
