Pacific Highway South construction for September 2010

An abandoned sanitary sewer force main will be removed from a casing beneath the intersection of South 304th Street late in the week of Sept. 13, continuing into the early part of the week of Sept. 20

An abandoned sanitary sewer force main will be removed from a casing beneath the intersection of South 304th Street late in the week of Sept. 13, continuing into the early part of the week of Sept. 20. Expect traffic congestion at South 304th Street during this work. Access will be maintained to businesses at the South 304th Street intersection.

JR Hayes will continue construction along South 308th Street from Pacific Highway South east to 18th Avenue South through the week of Sept. 20. This work includes drainage installation, replacing a fire hydrant, installing a joint utility duct bank and removing the luminaire at the northeast corner of South 308th and Pacific Highway South, near the Oriental Garden Center. Access will be maintained as the drainage installation crosses business and apartment frontages.

JR Hayes will be installing a new water main on the east side, south of South 308th Street, the week of Sept. 6-20. Businesses can expect a brief interruption in water service when they are switched over to the new water main the week of Sept. 20. JR Hayes will inform customers 48 hours in advance of these service interruptions. Business access will be maintained as the water line work crosses business frontages.

Late in the week of the Sept. 20, JR Hayes will begin installing a new water main north of South 308th Street on the east side. The same week, JR Hayes will install a drainage crossing at the south end of the project. Installation will proceed northward on the east side of the Pacific Highway South.

Late in the week of Sept. 20, JR Hayes will begin relocating the parking lot in front of Smart Start Daycare, near the intersection of Pacific Highway South and 18th Avenue South. This work includes completing drainage at the 18th Avenue South intersection, removing parking lot pavement, regrading and repaving. There may be some additional lane closures during the work, but business access will be maintained, and parking for the daycare and adjacent businesses will be transitioned to the temporary parking lot behind the facility.
