Many community groups and other volunteers painted over 2,000 feet of fence on Saturday in Federal Way.

The graffitied fence along 21st Avenue Southwest prompted John Fairbanks, a code compliance officer for the city, to create Let’s Paint Federal Way — the city’s first volunteer beautification day.

Several local businesses and organizations donated supplies, including Ski’s Painting, Advancing Leadership and the Federal Way Police Department Guild. Costa Vida also donated taco lunches to participants.
