One dead, one injured in Federal Way shooting

Federal Way police say they have found a connection between the two incidents.

Two shootings on March 18 in Federal Way have left one man dead and a second man hospitalized.

According to the Federal Way Police Department, Federal Way police officers were dispatched on March 18 at approximately 12:01 a.m. to SeaMar Community Health, 31405 18th Avenue South, for a report of a shooting.

According to the department, officers located a man of unknown age with a gunshot wound and started life-saving measures. King County Medic One provided additional life-saving measures upon arrival. The man later died as a result of his injuries.

According to the department, the police received a second report shortly after the first call of a man with a gunshot wound at the Southridge House, 30838 14th Avenue South.

According to the department, King County Medic One arrived and transported the man to Harborview Medical Center for further treatment.

Federal Way police say they have found a connection between the two incidents.

“At this time there is no danger to the community,” according to the department. “Federal Way … detectives are conducting a detailed investigation at both locations.”
