Student returned early: At 3:43 p.m. at a Federal Way school, there was a report that a juvenile student who was suspended returned to school before they were supposed to. The student was picked up by their parents, and their suspension was extended.
Oct. 8
There were two vehicle thefts reported, and three vehicles were recovered on this day.
Car crashed into a dumpster: At 6:18 a.m. in the 31000 block of 28th Avenue South, there was a report of a car that crashed into a dumpster. Officers arrived and found the vehicle occupied. The driver was contacted, arrested and booked into SCORE jail.
Possible shots fired: At 12:33 p.m. in the 1200 block of Southwest 356th Street, there was a report that an officer took a report of possible shots being fired into the reporting party’s vehicle during a possible road rage incident.
Man says he’s a vampire: At 2:22 p.m. in the 1800 block of South 324th Street, there was a report that a man entered a clinic and was asking to be euthanized because he is a vampire. The business did not want the male to be trespassed, but only to be moved along because of his odd request. No crime. The man refused all medical and police help.
Found firearm: At 5:23 p.m. in the 29000 block of 21st Avenue South, officers responded to a report of a firearm that had been found at a green area in an apartment complex. Officers safely retrieved the firearm, which had no visible serial number. The firearm was booked into evidence at the Federal Way Police Department for further inspection.

There were three vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Packages stolen: At 8:03 a.m. in the 37000 block of 17th Avenue South, there was a report regarding malicious mischief at the victim’s window. Upon review of the camera footage, the victim discovered that packages had been stolen from him.
Attempted wire theft: At 10:55 a.m. in the 31000 block of Pete von Reichbauer Way South, there was a report of a theft in progress. The reporting party advised that a white male wearing a black jacket, tan pants and a striped backpack tried to steal wire. When the reporting party confronted the man, he ran away and dropped a blue Motorola phone. The suspect was not found.

There were two vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Car in the middle of the road: At 1:26 a.m. in the 31000 block of 6th Avenue South, there was a report that a man was passed out behind a Chrysler Town and Country minivan in the middle of the roadway. The driver was placed under arrest and taken to jail for physical control.
Shot in the hand: At 4:16 a.m. in the 34000 block of Ninth Avenue South, there was a report of a gunshot wound that was sustained the day prior. The victim said that she was walking her dog near Hoyt Road Southwest between 8:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m., when a man wearing gloves and a black hooded sweatshirt shot at her from behind, and her hand was hurt after instinctively trying to deflect the gun. The suspect ran away. The victim said that she went to a friend’s house and then realized the injury was more severe than she thought, and she sought medical help. The case was forwarded to criminal investigations.
Lots of tents: At 2:47 p.m. in the 33000 block of 15th Avenue South, there was a report of an encampment at the location. The property was checked, and 10 to 15 people, along with 15 to 20 tents, were located. Contact was made with everyone, and they agreed to leave. Contact with the property owner was made.
Counterfeit $100 bill: At 3:27 p.m. in the 2000 block of South 320th Street, there was a report that a female suspect paid for a meal with a counterfeit $100 bill.
Gas station robbery: At 7:16 p.m. in the 28000 block of Military Road South, there was a report that officers responded to an armed robbery call at a 7-Eleven gas station. The suspect pointed a handgun at the store employees and asked for all the cash in the registers. The employees gave the suspect an unknown amount of cash. Surveillance footage shows the suspect fleeing the scene on foot northbound. A K-9 track was initiated, but the suspect was not located.
Furnishing liquor to minors: At 9:30 p.m. in the 36000 block of Enchanted Parkway South, there was a report that an officer was flagged down by Wild Waves security regarding an adult male picking up three intoxicated minors in his vehicle and driving away. A traffic stop was conducted, and probable cause for furnishing liquor to minors was established.

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
DUI with firearm: At 5:29 a.m. in the 27000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report that officers responded to a DUI with a firearm in plain view. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the driver for physical control. A stolen firearm was later discovered after the vehicle was served with a search warrant. The driver was booked into King County Jail.

Man seeking prostitution: At 2:20 on Pacific Highway South, there was a report that a female reporting party stated that a male suspect offered her $5 for intercourse. The suspect was a Hispanic male, with brown hair, medium build, about 5’10”, wearing a dark sweater and blue jeans. The suspect was driving a dark-colored late-model Honda Accord. The suspect was not located, and the victim departed on a Metro bus.

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.
Person shot: At 5:12 p.m. on Ninth Avenue South, there was a report of a person with a minor gunshot wound to the leg. It was determined that the victim was allegedly shot by an unknown occupant of a black Toyota Camry sedan with dealer plates while walking near Winco. The victim was transported to the hospital.
