Loiterer with infected hand booked: At 2 a.m. on Aug. 29 in the 31000 block of Pacific Highway South, police responded to reports of a suspect loitering and refusing to leave the premises. Upon arrival, officers discovered the suspect had a warrant for arrest out of King County. He was arrested, transported to SCORE jail and booked, despite having a swollen, infected hand. The suspect told police his wound “was a prior injury.”

Man arrested for storage lot break-in: At 5:13 a.m. on Aug. 29 in the 34000 block of 16th Avenue South, officers responded to a silent commercial alarm after police were told a male suspect was seen “on a motion camera inside of the fenced storage complex.” Officers detained the suspect, who admitted to making illegal entry through “a hole in the fence.”

Tire-thieving housemate?: At 10:22 a.m. on Aug 29 in the 32000 block of 8th Avenue Southwest, a woman told police she came down from her room to discover six tires missing from her garage. She told police she rents the top half of the home while another female rents the bottom half and said she “believes it may have been the bottom renters boyfriend” but had no proof of that. Officers discovered no signs a break-in had occurred. The woman told police she was “in the process of moving back to Olympia because she does not trust the bottom renter.”

Man steals new shoes, has heroin tools: At 1:41 p.m. on Aug. 29 at the Commons Mall, a suspect attempted to steal shoes from Famous Footwear. The suspect surrendered the concealed shoes after police arrived. He was detained for a confirmed Puyallup warrant, and during a search, officers found drug paraphernalia associated with heroin on the suspect.

Suspects stand out at kids stores: At 4:15 p.m. on Aug. 29 at the Commons Mall, a manager at Claire’s observed a suspect “attempting to steal a pair of $12.50 sunglasses.” The suspect returned the sunglasses when confronted by the manager. When officers made contact, police discovered the suspect had a $1,600 theft warrant out of Federal Way. The suspect was arrested and issued a new court date.

12th Fan goes too far to get gear: At 4:15 p.m. on Aug. 29 at the Commons Mall, police detained a suspect wearing a Seahawks jersey. Officers discovered the suspect stole $143.96-worth of Seahawks hats from Macy’s and then “fled in a vehicle.” The suspect was located and arrested. During the arrest, the suspect confessed to the theft and said he stole the hats because “he is a very big Seahawks fan.”

An expensive shoe exchange with guns: At 4:33 p.m. on Aug. 29 at the Commons Mall, a victim told police three unidentified “black males in a dark colored PT Cruiser” attempted to rob him after agreeing to meet at the Target parking lot to purchase Air Jordan shoes for $190. The victim told police one of the suspects “pointed a silver handgun at the victim and his girlfriend.” The pair “retreated back into Target, and the suspect vehicle drove off without the shoes.”

Man dodging traffic gets popped for warrant: At 5:48 p.m. on Aug. 29 in the 34000 block of 21st Avenue Southwest, police observed a suspect walking across the street and interfering with the flow of traffic. When officers detained the suspect, he provided a Washington State ID card. After officers ran the suspect’s information, they discovered he had a $5,000 warrant with Wenatchee police. The warrant was confirmed and the suspect was placed into custody and transported to the SCORE Jail.

But is it art?: At 2:32 a.m. on Aug. 30 in the 30000 block of Pacific Highway South, officers observed a female and male suspect “doing graffiti on a utility box.” Both suspects were arrested for obstructing and resisting arrest and booked into SCORE jail.

Wrong car, wrong time: At 6:02 a.m. on Aug. 30 in the 1300 block of South 324th Street, a male suspect was detained after another male reported he was in his car without his permission. The suspect was identified and a warrant for his arrest was found. The warrant was confirmed and the suspect was arrested and transported and booked into SCORE jail.

Man doesn’t want to move out, parents call police: At 9:50 a.m. on Aug. 30 in the 34000 block of 30th Avenue Southwest, police responded to a call of an adult male reporting his parents “threatening to kick him out of their residence.” Officers responded and made contact with the reporting man, his father, and his mother. Police discovered the dispute was regarding the son “not wanting to go to work.” The parents told officers “they were done and wanted him to move out.” They told police they understood the process of getting their 20-year-old son out of their residence.

Boy learns tough lesson: At 3:29 p.m. on Aug. 30 at the Commons Mall, police apprehended a a juvenile male suspect after he stole a hat from Macy’s. Macy’s officials decided not to press charges but requested the suspect be trespassed from the mall. The suspect was released to his grandmother from the mall sub-station.

Police find runner in hit and run: At 6:48 a.m. on Sept. 1 in the 34000 block of Pacific Highway South, police responded to a two-vehicle collision. Upon arrival, officers were advised witnesses were reporting a white van, which caused the collision, “was fleeing northbound on Pacific Highway South.” A witness told police they obtained the license plate of the suspect vehicle. Officers found the suspect vehicle and obtained a written statement.

DUI suspect in hurry at Taco Bell: At 11:57 p.m. on Sept. 1 in the 2000 block of Southwest Campus Drive, police responded to a “collision” in the drive-through at the Taco Bell. After investigation, officers determined the driver was under the influence and arrested for DUI and booked into SCORE Jail.

Mother knows best: At 7:35 p.m. on Sept. 2 in the 31000 block of 50th Lane Southwest, Officers intervened during a verbal dispute between a female and her mother during a visit. The woman told police her mother pushed her, but no visible injuries were seen by police. The woman requested documentation of the incident and told officers she “wanted to get a restraining order against her mother.”

Suspect surrenders to police: At 7:19 a.m. on Sept. 3 in the 34000 block of 9th Avenue South, officers came across a man “on his hands and knees just outside the vehicle he had been driving.” When officers stopped to check on him, they discovered he had three unconfirmed warrants out of three different cities after being identified. The suspect was arrested and transported to SCORE jail without incident.
