A man was murdered Sept. 19 in Federal Way following a shooting.

At 1:01 a.m. Sept. 19, Federal Way police officers responded to a report of a shooting at the Avana Star Lake Apartments at 2211 S. Star Lake Road. At the scene, officers located a vehicle that had crashed into several other vehicles, according to the police department.

Inside the vehicle was Enrique Bermudez, 25, with life-threatening injuries. Life-saving measures were attempted by police and fire personnel, which were ultimately unsuccessful, and Bermudez was pronounced deceased. The department reported that attempts to locate possible suspects and witnesses are ongoing, and detectives are on the scene conducting an investigation.

The King County Medical Examiners list of decedents states that Bermudez’s cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds, and the manner of death was homicide.
