Man mauls girlfriend during argument | Police blotter

Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log March 16-21.

March 16

Dozing dudes: At about 2:19 p.m. near the 31700 block of 3d Place South, officers responded to a welfare check and found two men sleeping in a parked vehicle on a public street. Both men had warrants out of Puyallup. The men were arrested and booked into jail.

Robbery: At about 3 p.m. near the 1900 block of South 331st Street, a boy reported that he was robbed by three unknown men.

March 17

Stolen school backpack: At about 11:14 a.m. near the 31100 block of 2nd Place SW, a woman discovered her daughter’s school backpack was stolen from her vehicle sometime overnight. The vehicle was parked in the driveway. The vehicle was left unblocked. The backpack contained a school laptop. Surveillance video captured a possible suspect.

Gun threats: At about 12:55 p.m. near the 34800 block of Pacific Highway South, an officer was dispatched to the report of threats with a gun.

Employee outraged: At about 6:10 p.m. near the 600 block of South 304th Street, a former employee of an adult family home was arrested for breaking a window when he was not allowed to return to work.

Unlicensed carry: At about 10:18 p.m. near the 32400 block of Pacific Highway South, officers conducted a traffic stop for a modified exhaust. When officers contacted the driver, a handgun was visible. The driver said he did not have a concealed pistol license.

March 18

Scratch from student: At about 9:45 a.m. near the 35100 block of 5th Avenue SW, a boy scratched a girl with a bottle opener he brought to school from home. The school handled the discipline.

Boyfriend mauls girlfriend: At about 5:32 p.m. near the 2700 block of SW 311th Street, a boyfriend and girlfriend got into an argument over fidelity. The argument turned physical when the boyfriend mauled the girlfriend’s face with his fingernails.

Stolen style: At about 7:35 p.m. near the 1800 block of South 320th Street, an unknown suspect stole a man’s bag full of clothing from him.The man said the suspect may have had a closed pocket knife. Suspect was not located or identified.

March 19

Gunfire reports: At about 3:12 a.m. near the 33200 block of 37th Avenue SW, officers responded to several reports of gunshots. Officers found several cartridge cases of various calibers in the intersection.

March 20

Nightclub assault: At about 1 a.m. near the 2000 block of South 320th Street, a man was assaulted at a nightclub. The man sustained minor injuries. No suspect information.

Building shot: At about 9:17 a.m. near the 30000 block of Military Road South, a person reported multiple bullet homes on the east side of the building. A window also had been struck by a bullet. There is no suspect information.

Shoe shoplifter: At about 1:15 p.m. near the 1800 block of South 320th Street, a man shoplifted two pairs of shoes from a retail shop. He was located across the street inside The Commons mall. He fled when contacted, but was detained. The man was booked into jail for theft and trespassing charges.

Animal abuse: At about 4:50 p.m. near the 35500 block of Pacific Highway South, a person called 911 to report an unknown man struck the person’s dog several times. The man was arrested and charges were forwarded to the Federal Way Prosecutor’s Office.

Retail robbers: At about 8:15 p.m. near the 1600 block of SW Dash Point Road, a boy and a girl robbed a store and stole cash.

March 21

Not a fan: At about 2:30 p.m. near the 1700 block of South 352nd Street, a man entered Home Depot and shoplifted ceiling fans valued at over $700. Loss prevention identified the suspect and recovered the items. The suspect left in a vehicle and a mandatory court date was served on the suspect.
