Man killed in Federal Way drive-by shooting identified

The 20-year-old Seattle man who was killed in a Federal Way drive-by shooting on Thursday was identified by the King County Medical Examiner’s Office as Muldhata U. Dawud.

At 1:05 a.m. that day, Dawud was with two other young men an 18-year-old and 19-year-old when a suspect drove up alongside their vehicle and opened fire.

Residents living near the 32800 block of First Ave. S. called police with reports of hearing gunshots and St. Francis also alerted police they had received victims with gunshot wounds.

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office stated Dawud died of a gunshot wound to the torso. His friends were injured but are expected to survive, according to the Federal Way Police Department.

Witnesses have told police the suspect drove a red Chevrolet Impala-style vehicle. The suspect is described as an African-American man with a stock build and dreadlocks.
