Man in critical condition after shooting inside Des Moines home

One man is in critical condition after he was shot multiple times in Des Moines on Monday morning.

At about 9:06 a.m. July 5, Des Moines police officers responded to a domestic violence incident near the 25400 block of 16th Place South, according to Sgt. Justin Cripe, public information officer for Des Moines police.

As officers arrived on scene, a 70-year-old man walked toward them from the residence. Inside, officers found a 50-year-old man who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

King County Medic One crews conducted life-saving measures and the man was transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition, Cripe said.

A 75-year-old woman was also found inside the home. She was not injured.

The man and woman were taken to the Des Moines Police Department for questioning. Police say all three of the individuals are related and live in the same residence.

The investigation is ongoing and police are not searching for any other involved individuals at this time, Cripe said.
