Witness draws gun on another witness: At 2:39 p.m. on May 7 in the 1300 block of SW 320th St., a man and two others were in their vehicle when they saw a woman arguing with a child of about 10 years old. The woman accused the child of stealing her cell phone. The male witness exited his vehicle and confronted the child, and the child became verbally abusive with him. The man pushed the child to the ground. Another witness saw the push but was not aware of the theft. He drew his concealed pistol, thinking it was an assault. The man who pushed the child then left in his vehicle. He was later detained by police, who determined that no crime had occurred.

Dog left in hot car: At 5:49 p.m. on May 7 at the Extended Stay America, a pit bull was locked in a hot car and released by a citizen before animal services arrived. The alleged owner arrived on scene but fled when police arrived. The dog was transported to the Tacoma Humane Society and the car was towed.

Wheelchair-bound man found covered in blood: At 10 p.m. on May 7 in the 1500 block of S. 348th St., a man was found lying face-down in the street with his wheelchair on top of him. When police lifted the man up, they saw he was covered in blood. The man was very intoxicated and unable to control his own body. He was involuntarily committed.

Shots fired in front of apartments: At 1:09 a.m. on May 6 in the 28000 block of Pacific Highway S., police received reports of shots being fired outside of the Crestview West apartments. A victim was found at a nearby McDonald’s with non-life threatening injuries and was transported to St. Francis. The suspects were not located.

Weapons found in stolen vehicle: At 11:23 p.m. on May 6 in the 34200 block of 38th Place SW, police observed a stolen vehicle. The driver and one passenger fled on foot. The driver of the vehicle was located during a K9 track. A sawed-off shotgun and pistol were found in the vehicle. Three other passengers were interviewed and released.

Man swings bat at cars: At 11:42 p.m. on May 6 in the 2100 block of S. 320th St., a man was seen walking in the roadway with a bat. The man told police he was in traffic trying to get officers’ attention. He said he believed that people were following him and that he was hitting vehicles and people who were attacking him. The officer believed the man was a danger to himself and others due to the hallucinations, walking into traffic and swinging the bat at cars, and the man was involuntarily committed.

Gang graffiti found: At 2:55 a.m. on May 5 in the 2100 block of S. 320th St., officers found spray paint on the side of a building that was obviously gang related. They believe the graffiti was an anomaly because the tagger did not sign it with their street name or tag call sign. There is no suspect information at this time.

Male attempts suicide: At 10:30 a.m. on May 5 in the 700 block of SW 310th St., a woman called police to report that her son had attempted suicide. The male placed an orange extension cord around his neck and hung for approximately three seconds. South King Fire and Rescue and police arrived and rendered aid to the male. He was transported to St. Francis for evaluation.

Man stops woman from robbing him: At 12:25 a.m. on May 4 in the 2200 block of S. Star Lake Road, a man had invited a woman back to his apartment. The woman became very intoxicated and the man offered to give her a ride home. The woman went to the restroom while he went to his car, but he realized he had left his wallet inside on the table. When he came back, the wallet was gone. He saw the wallet in the woman’s pocket. He took his wallet and the woman pushed him down and punched him. He told police he did not know anything about the suspect except her first name. The case is inactive as leads have been exhausted.

Purse stolen: At 10:52 a.m. on May 4 in the 28800 block of Military Road S., a female suspect forcefully stole a a female victim’s purse by pulling it away from her. The victim then fled in a getaway vehicle that was driven by a male suspect.

Man buys fake phone: At 3:54 p.m. on May 4 in the 200 block of SW 310th Place, a man met with two individuals to purchase a phone that he saw listed on offerupnow.com. The victim paid the men $400 for what he thought was an iPhone in its box. When he returned to his car, he realized the phone was not real. The suspects had already left the area, and all attempts to identify the suspect were unsuccessful.

Device mistaken for pipe bomb: At 8:57 a.m. on May 3 in the 2300 block of SW 350th Place, police were dispatched to a report of a possible pipe bomb on a sidewalk. The person who called police told them he located a pipe with cap ends on the sidewalk. Officers believed the device looked suspicious after seeing it. The bomb disposal unit was requested for assistance and they disposed of the device. Police were able to speak with another man who was responsible for the device. He told them it was a device for geoduck harvesting and it was not explosive. The case was closed as there was no crime.

BB gun prompts school lockdown: At 10:52 a.m. on May 3 at Todd Beamer High School, officers responded to a student in possession of a firearm at the school. The school was placed into internal lockdown and the student was found to be in possession of a replica Glock BB gun. He was booked into the King County Juvenile Detention Center for having a dangerous weapon on school grounds and disruption of school activity.

Drug dealers arrested: At 7:32 p.m. on May 3 in the 31000 block of Pacific Highway S., a witness saw two men approaching people and attempting to sell narcotics. The suspects were detained. A records check revealed that one of the suspects had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. During a search, both men were found to have narcotics on them. Both were arrested for the felonies.

Man threatens daughter: At 5:49 p.m. on May 3 in the 2000 block of S. 302nd Place, a man reportedly threatened his daughter, saying he was going to kill her. The man was booked into jail for felony harassment.

Man robbed at gunpoint: At 10:18 a.m. on May 2 in the 2500 block of Military Road S., a victim reported that he was robbed at gunpoint. He told police that the suspect pointed a gun at him and demanded all of his stuff. He said that his backpack, $816 and an iPhone were stolen from him by the suspect.

Man follows woman to apartment: At 5:58 p.m. on May 2 in the 1900 block of SW Campus Drive, police arrested a man after he followed a woman for three hours and then attempted to force his way into her apartment. The man was arrested for burglary and for attempted rape and harassment.

Man arrested for illegal weapon: At 11:40 a.m. on May 2 in the 27200 block of Pacific Highway S., officers were called to a report of malicious mischief that resulted in a vehicle being damaged. They were unable to find the suspects for that crime, but they talked to another man involved in the case who turned out to have a warrant. He was arrested, and during a search was found to have an illegal weapon. He was cited for the weapon and booked into SCORE jail on the warrant.
