Federal Way police arrested a felon after he threatened a woman with a handgun at the Park at Dashpoint apartments on Monday morning.

The 39-year-old woman called 911 after she was arguing with the 34-year-old man over money matters and he allegedly threatened her with a gun, said police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock.

At approximately 11:56 p.m. on Sunday, police arrived at the apartments where the suspect and victim both live in different units, located at 31736 50 Lane SW.

The woman fled the apartment and the felon was inside the unit and did not respond to police’s phone call attempts, Schrock said.

Police had probable cause to arrest the man for felony harassment with a weapon and felon in possession of a firearm. They obtained a search warrant and the suspect surrendered without incident at approximately 3:16 a.m. He was arrested and booked into SCORE jail.

The woman did not sustain any injuries, police noted.
