Lakota student snares science medal

Nearly 463 students competed at the 54th annual Washington State Science and Engineering Fair (WSSEF). The fair was held April 1 and 2 at Bremerton High School. King County students won 46 of the 144 first place awards given, the senior division grand prize silver medal, and 31 special awards.  I have been authorized to release names and results for the following students.

Brian Locke, a seventh-grader at Lakota Middle School in Federal Way, won first place in the WSSEF Junior Division for his project titled “The Effects of Polyurethane Foam Material Deformation on Friction.”
