Rep. Linda Kochmar, R-Federal Way, was the commencement speaker at DeVry of Federal Way’s graduation ceremony on June 28. More than 160 students and 400 family members were present, earning a wide range of bachelors, masters and associate degrees.
“It was a great privilege to participate in the ceremony and honor these aspiring young adults for stepping up and owning their future success,” Kochmar said. “I am confident that these graduates will succeed and I wish them the best as they continue to pursue their dreams.”
Kochmar spoke of the need to embrace positive life changes and emphasized the importance of character and integrity in the workplace. She wished the graduates well, reminding them of the magnitude of their achievement and the future value of the degrees they earned.
DeVry is a private university focused on employment-based skills and outcomes. Roughly half the June 28 graduates are military/ex-military.
