March 20

There were at least 3 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 1 vehicle was recovered.

Firearm injury: A man shot himself in the leg accidentally while cleaning a table where he typically stores his personal firearm.

Roadway blocked: At approximately 8:50 p.m., a woman was contacted by police for blocking a public roadway with a vehicle near the 800 block of South 336th Street. She said she fell asleep at the wheel. She was then arrested for an unrelated felony warrant after her identify was confirmed.

March 21

There were at least 8 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 3 vehicles were recovered.

Razor scooter stolen: At approximately 9:45 a.m., police responded to reports of a theft of an electric razor scooter. The reporting party said he let the suspect into his hotel room, but didn’t know him well and that the individual then took the scooter.

Juveniles arrested: An occupied stolen vehicle was identified around 4 p.m., parked in an apartment complex near the 1200 block of South 336th Street. Police located the vehicle, and the driver attempted to flee, but was stopped with spike strips. The juveniles inside the vehicle attempted to flee. One was booked into juvenile hall and two were released to their parents, awaiting felony charges.

March 22

There were at least reports of 2 vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 1 vehicle was recovered.

Narcotics emphasis: At least 14 individuals were stopped for using narcotic substances in public in a drug emphasis operation. Responses varied, including several who resisted arrest and some who were hospitalized due to the effects of their drug use.

Juvenile weapons offense: Two juveniles were apprehended by police at approximately 11:30 a.m. after they received reports of a suspicious subject with a handgun in their waistband near the 500 block of South 320th Street. The juveniles attempted to flee, but police stopped them and located firearms on both youth.

March 23

There were at least 4 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 2 vehicles were recovered.

False alarm: An employee reported a burglary at approximately 7:30 a.m. in the Commons Mall. The individual had identified themselves as a cleaner to the employee and possessed a key, so police had no reason to believe there was anything suspicious about their activities.

Successful spike: At approximately 8:45 p.m., police attempted a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle. The driver attempted to flee, but officers successfully spiked the vehicle. They located it, but it was abandoned when they caught up with it.

March 24

There were at 5 least reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 1 vehicle was recovered.

Kidnapping: Officers responded to suspicious circumstances at approximately midnight. A dark vehicle was driving in the area at high speeds and a female passenger was reportedly yelling to be let go. Police developed probable cause for kidnapping. The victim had minor injuries from the incident.

Storage unit burglary: At approximately 8:15 a.m., a large U-Haul entered a public storage facility near the 34700 block of Pacific Highway South with a valid gate code, drilled the latch of one unit and stole the contents within.

March 25

There were at least 2 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Commercial burglary: Officers were dispatched to a dental office at approximately 4 a.m. near the 2300 block of Southwest 32oth Street to respond to a commercial burglary. They noted two unsecured doors, one with forced entry.

March 26

There were at least 3 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 3 vehicles were recovered.

Gun threat: At approximately 2:47 p.m., a suspect drove up next to the victim and pointed a silver handgun at them. The victim followed the suspect and took a picture of their license plate.

Possible drugging: A woman was confused and wandering around 6 a.m. near the 1600 block of South 356th Street when an officer connected with her. She had blacked out and felt that she had been drugged, but refused to go to the hospital. She was given a ride to her apartment and said she would contact friends to find the location of her vehicle and belongings.
