Judge Robertson installed as president of the District and Municipal Court Judges Association

Federal Way Municipal Judge Rebecca Robertson was recently installed as president of the District and Municipal Court Judges Association at the DMCJA Spring Conference.

DMCJA represents the 206 judges of the courts of limited jurisdiction in Washington State.

Robertson was elected as one of two Federal Way judges in 2009. She serves alongside Judge Dave Larson.

“I am proud to represent the 206 judges of the courts of limited jurisdiction,” Robertson said. “Together, we handled over 2,000,000 cases last year. It is our level of court that most people interact with at some point in their life. I plan to work hard to make our courts the best they can be for the people of Federal Way and the state of Washington.”

As president of DMCJA, Robertson becomes a member of the Board of Judicial Administration, the policy-making body for the judicial branch of government in Washington State. Robertson will serve a one-year term as president and then as immediate past-president for the following year.

“I am proud to have a great benchmate in Judge Robertson and the judges of this state are fortunate to have her as the President of the DMCJA,” Larson said.
