Jessica Dahl, Kaitlyn Keyes to embark on World Race

This upcoming September, these two will set out on The World Race. They will travel to the countries of Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, the Philippines, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda.

Jessica Dahl and Kaitlyn Keyes have both grown up in the Federal Way community.

Jessica graduated from Beamer in 2007 and has been working as a hair stylist at the Hair Lounge for the past few years. Kaitlyn graduated from Federal Way in 2008 and most recently from the University of Washington.

The two have served as Young Life leaders at Illahee for a combined total of eight years. As World Racers, Jessica and Kaitlyn set out on a journey that stretches into 11 countries over 11 months to serve those in the deepest of need. This opportunity is a challenging adventure for young adults that requires the abandonment of worldly possessions and a traditional way of living in exchange for a lifestyle that goes beyond one’s self.

This upcoming September, these two will set out on The World Race. They will travel to the countries of Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, the Philippines, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda.

In each country, they will live for a month with only their backpack, a tent, and sleeping bag to serve those communities. They will be teaching English, building schools and churches, working with orphans, sex trafficking victims, and those affected by HIV/AIDS, and more.

Kaitlyn and Jessica are holding a garage sale to raise funds to go toward their World Race to serve in 11 countries for 11 months. Sale runs 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 6 at 31005 44th Ave. SW, Federal Way. Contact (206) 919-6077 or keyesk@uw.edu.
