There were two vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Firearm arrest: At 12:45 a.m. in the 28000 block of Military Road South, there was a report that officers observed a suspicious vehicle located on the south side of the parking lot of Valley Harvest grocery store. Officers observed a firearm in the car, and a high-risk stop was initiated. One adult male was taken into custody.
Credit card scanner at self-checkout: At 9:50 p.m. on South 320th Street, there was a report from the Safeway store manager who wanted to report the discovery of a credit card scanner that was found on the self-checkout lane. Officers took the credit card scanner and processed it into evidence. There are no leads, suspects or further evidence at this time.
Aug. 21
There was one vehicle theft reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Pursuit: At 2:21 a.m. on South 308th Street and Pacific Highway South, there was a report that officers observed a vehicle matching the description of a vehicle referenced in a stolen Flock hit out of Kent. Officers followed the vehicle and initiated a pursuit.
Squatters with stolen police equipment: At 12:04 p.m. in the 1300 block of South 364th Way, there was a report that officers responded to a vacant home involving squatters. Officers identified and cited multiple persons who were residing illegally in the home. Officers conducted a search at the request of the homeowner and located two firearms, drugs, stolen police gear, an Axon taser and several electronics.
Woman hit with a rock at Wild Waves: At 3:25 p.m. in the 36000 block of Enchanted Parkway South, there was a report that while working at Wild Waves Theme Park off duty, Federal Way police were dispatched to a female who had been struck in the face with a rock. Upon investigation, it was found that three juveniles were throwing rocks at each other on the amphitheater grass, and one rolled down the hill and struck the female. No probable cause for a crime was established. Management handled the civil side of the issue.
Woman sleeping in garbage can: At 3:04 p.m. in the 1200 block of South 320th Street, there was a report that a contractor at the location contacted police regarding a female who was sleeping inside an industrial garbage can. She provided her information, and she returned with a warrant out of Everett. The warrant was only bookable into the Snohomish County Jail, but a report was still taken for information.
Aug. 22
There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Car blown up: At 3:09 a.m. in the 2000 block of South 308th Street, there was a report that officers responded to an illegal discharge and determined that a vehicle had been destroyed during an explosion. Several houses and other vehicles were damaged, but there are no reported injuries at this time.
Found machete: At 2:54 p.m. in the 34000 block of 16th Avenue South, there was a report from a person who said that they found a machete at the property. The reporting party did not believe it belonged to nearby landscapers. The machete was booked as found by the police.
Hidden camera in bedroom: At 3:07 p.m. in the 1400 block of Southwest 340th Street, there was a report from a woman who said she located a hidden camera in her bedroom that she did not know was there and appeared to be recovering without her knowledge. After investigation and interviews, probable cause for voyeurism was established.
Dog in a car: At 3:13 p.m. at Wild Waves Theme Park, there was a report of a dog in a vehicle.
Aug. 23
There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.
Lying about identity: At 12:43 a.m. in the 34000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report that officers conducted a stop, and the subject lied about his name. He was later arrested.
Intoxicated man honking at police department: At 1 a.m. in the 33000 block of Eighth Avenue South, there was a report that a suspect drove directly up to the police department and began honking his horn. The suspect was contacted by police and believed to be under the influence. Sobriety testing was performed, and the suspect was placed under arrest for driving under the influence.
Aug. 24
There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.
Four-year-0ld walking: At 3:06 p.m. in the 28000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report that officers were dispatched to a four-year-old child wandering alone near Pacific Highway South. The child was taken into protective custody. Officers later conducted a welfare check on the child’s family. Officers then took another child into protective custody. CPS intake was started, and both children were placed into DCYF custody. Officers developed probable cause for reckless endangerment.
Aug. 25
There were three vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.
Stolen vehicle found occupied: At 3:31 a.m. on 47th Avenue Southwest and Southwest 320th Street, there was a report that officers located an occupied stolen vehicle. Two suspects were contacted, and the driver was arrested. The passenger fled on foot. The driver was processed at the police department and released.
Generator cables stolen: At 8:13 p.m. in the 31000 block of Enchanted Parkway South, there was a report of stolen generator cables. Officers drove to the location, and the reporting party said that an unknown blue truck with no plates drove up to the generator and loaded up the generator cables that were sitting next to the generator.
