A report in the Tri-City Herald discusses the trials and tribulations of standards-based grading in Kennewick schools.

Apparently, that district is following the lead of Federal Way Public Schools, which generated its fair share of frustration and controversy over the new system. Federal Way implemented the system to improve the district’s graduation rates, and help ensure that Federal Way students are prepared for the next level in their academic career, whether it’s a four-year college or a technical program.
