FWPD seizes fentanyl and meth in drug emphasis operation

The operation resulted in eight arrests.

The Federal Way Police Department recovered over 100 suspected fentanyl pills and several grams of suspected methamphetamine in a drug emphasis operation.

The department reported that on Jan. 24, officers from the special operations unit and special investigation unit conducted a drug emphasis operation in the city’s downtown area. FWPD reports that the operation resulted in eight arrests for knowingly using a controlled substance in a public place.

FWPD officers also seized more than 100 suspected fentanyl pills and several grams of suspected methamphetamine.

“In 2024, drug-related arrests in Federal Way were up by 339%,” FWPD reported. “Operations like these contribute to that positive trend as FWPD remains committed to keeping our community safe.”
