Mirror staff reports:
Federal Way police are searching for a man accused of groping a 12-year-old girl at Walmart.
The suspect was described by Federal Way police as a Hispanic male, 5-feet-7-inches tall, with a chubby build, black hair, glasses, and a black leather trench coat.
The incident took place about 7:30 p.m. Feb. 10 at the Walmart Supercenter, 34520 16th Ave. S. According to police, the unidentified suspect entered the store alone and appeared to target a 12-year-old girl walking in the store with her mother. Police indicated that the man “groped the female child as he walked past her in an aisle.”
According to police, the man was followed both inside and out of the store by the young girl’s parents and store employees. The man is said to have left the area in a “dark colored passenger car with a sunroof.”
Federal Way police ask anyone who may have information on the man to contact Det. Matthew Leitgeb at (253) 835-6783 or matthew.leitgeb@cityoffederalway.com.
“Walmart has been completely cooperative with Federal Way police throughout this investigation,” wrote police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock. “The investigation is ongoing to include further investigation into outside area cameras in an attempt to identify the suspect vehicle.”
