FUSION finds random act of kindness

A random act of kindness was recently and unexpectedly bestowed upon FUSION (Friends United to Shelter the Indigent, Oppressed and Needy). FUSION is a South Puget Sound philanthropy that provides housing and support services to homeless families.

Late last month, one of FUSION’s homes had a rock thrown through the window. At the same time, the clothes dryer in the unit seemed to give up the ghost. This called for a trip to the local hardware store.

When FUSION volunteer Janet Gray went to visit the Federal Way Lowe’s, she chatted with employee Blaine Farrar about the need for a motion detector, a brighter porch light for the unit and a new dryer. Blaine and his wife, Tina, donated a dryer, a motion detector and a brighter porch light. Blaine is installing them for free and also has offered to help FUSION unit managers with his expertise in all things electrical via his handyman skills.
