Free meals for kids offered at 65 local locations

Wednesday pick-ups through mid-December in Federal Way, Auburn, Kent and Des Moines.

Free “Grab-and-Go” meals for students will be offered every Wednesday at 65 locations, starting tomorrow.

The School Meals Program will run every Wednesday from Sept. 9 through Dec. 16.

Parents may pick up a week’s worth of meals (5 breakfast and 5 lunches) for their children. Children do not need to be present for pickup.

The only exception is for the Veterans Day holiday (Wednesday, Nov. 11) when meals will be served Tuesday, Nov. 10.

Funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), meals are available for Federal Way Public Schools students and children ages 18 or younger at no cost. Two options for meals include a microwavable meal kit or ready-to-eat meal kit.

Pickup sites have been expanded to 65 locations throughout areas FWPS serves including Federal Way, Kent, Auburn and Des Moines.

Multiple meal pick-up times range from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. A full schedule with locations and times is available at FWPS.org/schoolmeals.
